Network Engineer

 

Skills Required

• Excellent understanding of network and routing protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LACP, OSPF, and BGP)
• Hands-on experience with enterprise class networking platforms (Cisco - IOS, IOS-XE, Nexus, Arista)
• Thorough understanding of Next-Gen Firewalls (Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA)
• Linux administration and security – authentication and authorisation systems, audit, hardening, analysis
• Excellent troubleshooting and creative problem-solving abilities, including packet-level traffic analysis
• Experience implementing, operating, and supporting open source tools for network and security monitoring and management on Linux/Unix platforms
• Technical architecture and design including high availability networks/systems
• Advanced Programming and Scripting for Automation -- Python
• A proactive attitude


Skills Preferred

• Technical writing skills including creation of high and low-level network designs
• Experience working with data center and service provider networks is a plus

Experience

• 3 years+ maintaining mission critical Networks and Linux systems
• Networking including VPN Deployment (SSL and IPSEC)
• Linux/Windows system integration and interaction (advantageous)

Qualifications:

A degree in computer science or related discipline
